Our Fields Are Desolate Without God

In order that a healthy crop may grow in your fields of ministry, you must continually walk the ground; making sure there is sufficient room for the plants to grow.  The weeds you find must be yanked out, along with any stones and rocks in the upper soil.

Even the most fertile ground will fail to produce a good crop if the topsoil is choked with weeds or rocks.

Sometimes diligent labor in clearing the ground is not enough.  If you are doing all the work yourself and not relying on the Lord God while living in obedience, your labor is doomed to failure.

If the Lord does not water your fields, they will become parched.  If God has not been brought into your ministry to watch over it, the thorns and weeds will soon take over and you will harvest only bad fruit.

Isaiah wrote about a vineyard that was unblessed by God in Isaiah 5:6(TNIV), "I will make it a wasteland, neither pruned nor cultivated, and briers and thorns will grow there.  I will command the clouds not to rain on it."

All your work must be done with God's blessing and in obedience to Him or it will certainly fail as well.
