May Your Words Be Nourishing Rain
When we go forth into the world as ministers of the Lord, using that which God has provided us through his Holy Spirit, we need to ensure the words we speak enrich the ground by choosing them with care.
We want our words to be like nourishing rain, which allow the seeds we water to sprout and grow strong.
Isaiah 55:10-11(TNIV) says, "As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Lord, guide our tongues, so that the words that flow from our lips will encourage and strengthen those to whom we speak, like your blessed rain. We pray that you will direct our words and actions, so that the crops we plant in your name will thrive and prosper.
